So I just wrapped a shoot. The second she walked in I was struck by her. Without a stitch of makeup and hair unstyled, she looked amazingly beautiful. Mona Lisa is what I saw.
She was nervous of course. Everyone is. But as we progressed with our shoot, it occurred to me that this woman has NO IDEA how beautiful she is.
And I was reminded of this idea I've had--that "beautiful" is simply a state of mind. If you THINK you're beautiful then you will engage with the world as if you ARE INDEED beautiful.
If you DO NOT think you're beautiful...well...as I can attest, you struggle with confidence, esteem and self-acceptance.
I was so moved by this experience today that I looked this idea up online and what do you know? Dove soap did a research project on this very thing! (Follow this link to read what they found)!
I thought you'd find it as interesting as I did.
And it's a lesson to remember as we face ourselves in the mirror every day.
May you always THINK yourself beautiful!
